The Procaccini Family would like to express their thanks to the Brockton Fire Department in particular the Campello Station for the generous contributions they made on behalf of Jimmy and to the Procaccini Children’s Fund. Jim was a great person and it was shown in the overwhelming response of people that attended the fundraiser.
His family, the fire department and his friends were his whole life. He loved them all very much. Jimmy will be sadly missed by all of us. |

I want to send my condolences to the Brockton F.D. for my cousin Jimmy Proccaccini. I am heartbroken that he is gone and we will never spend another Thanksgiving together. Jimmy may you rest in peace and I love you. May you be resting with Mom, Dad and my sister Angela. I am sure your brothers at the BFD are destroyed by this as well. Peace my lovely cousin and friend.

Had a dream last night about the fire....altho I was only 2 years old at the time...My dad owned Shanleys Package Store located to the immediate left of the Strand...not long after the fire he had a "breakdown" which I now believe to be indirectly caused by the Strand disaster. He never mentioned the fire within the family and never would answer my questions about it. It had obviously marked him indelibly.
Thanks for this website.The memorial to these fallen heroes is long overdue.

I just wanted to let your officers and members of the Brockton Fire Dept. know that your presence at the funeral of Capt. Robeson should be commended. Reading articles about the Strand Theater fire in 1941 and the events that happened in our area are just one of the reasons that make the brotherhood of firefighters so strong. I did see pictures of the memorial that the Scranton local sent to your community in 1941. Seeing that monument made me realize even more of how strong the firefighters bond is. It is a wonderful credit to your community and your dept. for the members that traveled to our area to honor one of Scranton's bravest. It is really over whelming to see such support come from all over the country and it makes me proud of the profession I have chosen. |
